Palmers Garage was started some sixty years ago by Mr E A R Palmer and his wife A M Palmer.

Mr Palmer, a former welder in the Great Western Railway works and a REME in the 2nd World War, started by selling kerosene,kindling and home goods from the back of a van in and around the Swindon area.

Mr Palmer retired in June 2000 and sold the business to British Benzol.

John Bell, an employee of 37 years, then purchased the garage from the former owners in July 2005.
